Circle of Control

Sometimes we experience things that feel unmanageable or out of our control. This can then lead us to feelings of anxiety, fear, or sadness. It's true that there are many things that we do not have control over, but there are also many things we do have control over. Understanding these things can help us to work on releasing the things we cannot control and focusing on the power we have with the things we can control. Let’s get started on the Circle of Control Printable with Miss Meg.

Think about the weather- we definitely don't have control over what happens with the weather each day do we?! Some days could bring rain and cold, other days bring sunshine. But we don't focus on trying to control the weather, because we understand that is impossible! Instead we do things like pay attention to the weather person or the news to gather information about what the weather will do any given day. Next, to manage how we experience the weather, we can create a plan of the things we can control. If we know it might rain, we choose to carry an umbrella just in case it does, to keep us warm and dry. If we know the temperature is below freezing, we wear a coat and gloves outside to keep us warm! Even though we can't control everything, we can control our choices and how we manage those things, like the weather.
