Turnbow Elementary Mural

You know how concert crowds are always electric with energy? Imagine that, sprinkle in even more excited energy, and you have this mural reveal moment at CL "Charlie" and Willie George Park in Springdale, AR!

Over 560 students in grades Kindergarten - 3rd from Walter Turnbow Elelementary created artwork featured on this 10' ft. wide x 8' ft. tall mural on display at one of the kids' most popular places to play. Not only is it an incredible sight for the park, but it can also be seen from the elementary school as the building it's displayed upon is directly across the street. Art Feeds was thrilled to collaberate with Springdale Parks and Recreation to make this possible for the kiddos.

The theme, voted on by Turnbow studends, is "Friendship and Unity" with a color pallet of "Peppy Pastels." Creating a unified mural with so many children is created with the unique formula of each student contibuting their own work of art- while also working together to create one end product. From this process, students become familiar with creative expression and arts education as well as increasing problem-solving skills, risk taking, confidence building and student empowerment. And of course, buzzing excitement to see the final result!

Art Feeds is grateful for the help of Turnbow Elementary staff, especially Art Instructor Mrs. Richardson. This mural was generously funded by the Walmart Foundation.
