Summer Color: Art Feeds Jefferson Mural

This summer was stuffed full of color.

By far our most colorful project was this 20 ft tall wall that now holds the Art Feeds Jefferson Mural.

A fabulous local artist Jordan Murdock spent time with us & Art Feeds students at Jefferson Elementary to see what the children wanted to see in their new Outdoor Learning Center. Concensus: dolphins, flags, eagles, and lots-lots-lots of color.

We started the process with generous volunteers who primed like mad.

Next came color galore.

And then, late night stenciling, color coding, & first coats.

Details, VERY tall ladders & newly discovered fear of heights.

Lots of rain! The entire project took a month to completed due to nearly 2 weeks of rainstorms. We finished just in time- wrapping up the last details at midnight the night before school starts.

And today is the big reveal! Full completed images of the mural to come as it’s been underwraps for the last few weeks while students settle into school. Thanks so much to our sponsors who made this mural possible: Anne Sharp Joplin Family Worship Center Choice Marketing Rebuild Joplin Michelle Ray Pusser in honor of mom Debbie Prince Roper, Students, Parents, Faculty & Staff of the Academy of Information & Technology (AITE) in Stamford, CT and the Jefferson Staff and parents. Stay tuned for the big reveal!

Love Naively. Give Generously. Be Foolishly Compassionate.
