Today we’re teaming up with Joplin Public Library for Tails and Tales summer reading program. Visit the Joplin Public Library website to join a full summer of reading and creating!
A little inchworm uses the tools he has to measure the birds around him (and to survive!) teaching us that even the littlest creatures can solve problems creatively and can do hard things. Inspired by Leo Lionni's story and artwork in the book "Inch by Inch", we'll be creating a mixed media naturescape using various art materials.

Step 1: Start with the Naturescapes printable. You can download it for free here.
Step 2: Use the oil pastels or crayons to color the leaves, grass, bird, etc.
Step 3: Cut out the the items from the printable and a branch out of construction paper
Step 4: Using your glue stick put onto a watercolor paper starting with the branch then the grass and leaves making the bird the last to glue onto the paper
Step 5: Shade in the background with a blue oil pastel or crayon to add the sky
When you make your own version of this project, post it online with #ArtFeedsMakes so we can cheer you on in your creativity!
