Current Impact
Art Feeds programs in Joplin, MO currently serve over 1,300 children on a weekly basis and is committed to reaching every child in the Joplin area by 2013. Students, teachers and parents are advocating for our programs because of the impact it has on local children to draw, paint, dance, sing and move actively past the May 22, 2011 tornado that traumatized the children of the Joplin community. Beyond our weekly sessions Art Feeds also conducts art camps and workshops in alliance with community children’s organizations in various capacities. Our goal is to meet the needs of Joplin students emotionally and developmentally through art, expression and creative education.
Art Feeds programs in Ghana serve over 400 students regularly through therapeutic art and creative education. These students have survived the trauma of slavery and poverty. Our art programs are geared toward expressing and overcoming trauma, promoting self worth, and creative problem solving and development with the Ghanaian children.
