Our thanks have a hard time resolving into words tonight. They would come best in tired hugs, high fives & kisses on the cheeks.  Because our words have been shouted & you deserve more than those six letters.

Here’s why:

To strive toward a crazy goal that others wave away passively, to keep pushing so hard that  you don’t look back- is a scary thing.  So many times this year, we’ve had tunnel vision thinking we were in this alone. Only to feel a tap on the shoulder. We’ve glanced back to see thousands of bodies using their momentum to push us forward & onward.

This was definitely one of those experiences.  While we didn’t win any of the $2 million granted at the American Giving Awards, we know we are rich in support & community.  After being surrounded by such inspiring charities this week, we are more motivated than ever before to make the most sustainable impact in children’s lives as possible.

Our goal in this is to be exposed to individuals who want to be a part of this movement, to help invest creatively in Joplin’s children & children in their own communities who may benefit from the Art Feeds model.  En route, our Joplin had air time sharing our story of restoration, our family has grown in numbers & strength, and we as a community have picked up momentum. We’ve advocated for Joplin’s children, our future.

For this, we send you technological bear hugs, kisses on the cheeks & high fives.
