As we encourage supporters to Raise Your 38, we are blown away by some of their dedication and successes! Andrea Taylor has been a social networking fiend- and it’s paying off! So far, she’s raised $190- & had 19 different sponsors. Way to go, girl!
We wanted to know her sponsor-attaining-secrets, so we chatted with her the other day.
AF: What is your driving force for why you Raise Your 38?
Andrea: When I think about Art Feeds, I think about the children. Art is such an escape for people and kids seem to really enjoy it as well. I was talking with my grandma one day about my aunt, who had just returned from a missions trip in Africa. They worked with the children over there. My grandma went on to tell me that they gave the children toys and coloring books and crayons and so on. There was one child who didn’t know what to do with the coloring book and crayons. This was my breaking point and my calling for getting involved in this organization. Here in American, we take for granted little things like that. I’m so excited to sponsor 5 kiddos this school year and hopefully get to work with them on some projects.
AF: How the heck are you getting so many sponsors?
Andrea: SOCIAL NETWORKING!!! I raised all my money through tweeting and posting Facebook statuses. My family and friends would share my post and POW, I started receiving donation after donation.
AF: If you could ask any celebrity to Raise their 38, who would it be?
Andrea: Is this even a question we should have to ask me? lol anyone who knows me knows that I am a HUGE Justin Bieber fan. I would definitely call JB. I know Justin would be willing to give to Art Feeds. And he would thing Art Feeds is an interesting organization. Art Feeds Music (for Justin).
AF: If Art Feeds were a hair do, what would it be?
Andrea: haha clever question. I would say an afro. An afro is made up of many different curls. If you look closely, there is no curl that is the exact same. (I know this because my hair is pretty much a fro when I allow it to be.) But somehow, all these curls come together to form this huge hair do. Art is the same way. There is not one piece of art that is the exact same. But when you bring all these different art works together, you create a beautiful gallery.
AF: What does Art Feed for you?
Andrea: Art Feeds me many things…
Art Feeds an escape from reality.
Art Feeds my nails.
Art Feeds my closet.
Art Feeds hope.
Art Feeds happiness.
