We have a plethora of workshops happening this summer- one of our favorite themes to cover during this season is Architecture. During YMCA Day Camp, Art Feeds told kiddos that we were hiring them as Architects for Joplin- Everyone agreed that we need lots of builders to get our prairie back in business. Here are some images from a few projects we worked on throughout the day.
We designed some buildings out of cardboard boxes and doodads. Many students used buildings that were destroyed in the Joplin tornado as inspiration for their own projects!

We loaded in the Mobile Art Center, told the kiddos about the architects who designed the Art Mobile, then helped them design their own tricked-out-RVs!

Then we had a bridge building contest inspired by Iggy Peck Architect! Piles of random objects were carefully used to create a bridge with only tape and yarn to secure the items. We discovered super creative designers during this activity!
